Privacy Policy - First Date

The short version

First Date collects nothing. The app has no account, no server, and no sync, and it makes no network requests of its own. Nothing you enter leaves your device unless you choose to send it yourself (for example, a safety SMS that you compose and send from your own Messages app).

Data stored by the app, on your device

First Date stores match notes, screenshots and photos you add to a match, conversation prompts, date plans, safety contacts you pick, ratings, tags, voice memos, on-device transcripts, and pattern insights in the app's local container on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere.

Data we collect

None. We do not run analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or a server-hosted dating profile system. We do not sell personal data, and there is no personal data on our side to sell.

Apple services

Apple StoreKit processes First Date Pro subscriptions; Apple, not us, handles the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. Apple MapKit and a one-shot location request may be used when you ask for venue and walking-time context. Vision (text recognition) and Speech (voice-memo transcription) run on device. On iOS 26 devices where Apple's on-device model is available, it is used for conversation prompts and narrative patterns; every one of those paths has an on-device template fallback. The app does not use HealthKit or WeatherKit.

Contacts and Messages

If you set a safety contact, that contact's details are stored on your device only. A check-in pre-fills a message in your own Messages app that you send yourself. First Date does not send messages for you, does not contact emergency services, and does not share your live location.

Deleting data

Delete individual matches, dates, contacts, photos, voice memos, and reflections inside the app. Deleting the app removes its entire local container from the device. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side copy to request or erase.

Children

First Date is not directed at children and is rated for users 12 and over.
